As a specialty builder/contractor, utilizing and evaluating energy efficient components and materials, Dan has worked as an industry leader with leading associations such as the Structural Insulated Panel Association (SIPA) as well as the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) and the Energy Efficient Building Association (EEBA) and is also a PATH Partner (Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing).

Dan has dedicated his craft to discovering and implementing the interrelationships between mechanical systems, building envelopes and performance requirements in order to develop a “Total Systems Approach” towards green building. With the realization that these methodologies have been significantly lacking in the residential construction sector, Dan has successfully applied these technologies and techniques into a standardized set which exceeds LEED and Energy Star industry standards.

Most recently, Dan has organized and driven the industries newest green building initiative, The Kansas City Energy Project (www.kcenergyproject.com). With support and guidance from entities from across the entire green building spectrum, Kansas City, Missouri now has an organized initiative to completely revolutionize the building methodology for their region.
