As the Sustainability Health and Safety Manager for Fetzer Architectural Woodwork, Richard has researched and implemented sustainable initiatives for manufacturing facilities. He also guided Fetzer through the FSC Chain of Custody certification process and serves as their FSC COC Administrator. Additionally, as a LEED AP, he has worked on multiple large commercial building projects to assist customers in managing the LEED process and obtain certification for their buildings. He is on the Association for Retail Environments (ARE) Sustainability Council, and serves as a member of the Architectural Woodwork Institute’s (AWI) Green Building Task Force. He has been a past presenter for the ARE university webinars on sustainability. His environmental roots go back to cave and vegetation restoration at Timpanogos Cave National Monument and in the Uinta National Forest where he was a volunteer project coordinator and served as a volunteer on multiple other conservation projects.
