Christian received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Born in New York City and raised in New England, he studied furniture design, architectural preservation, and theatrical lighting as an undergraduate at Tufts University, Askov HĂžjskole (Denmark), and Savannah College of Art and Design.

Prior to establishing ChrDAUER, he was employed by architecture firms in San Francisco, Berkeley, and New York that specialized in custom residential, commercial office and restaurant/lighting design. And.... way back when, Christian apprenticed as a cabinetmaker in Savannah Georgia and was a restoration craftsman at a property of the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Tarrytown, New York.

Presently, Christian is an architect licensed in the state of California (#C28302), an active member of the the AIA, NCARB, USGBC, LEED Accredited Professional, Board President of San Francisco based Support for Families of Children with Disabilities, member of the San Francisco Lawn Bowling Club, a public school parent, furniture-maker, avid canoeist, and most importantly, a husband and dad.
