Recommendation and installation of LEED approved construction materials that increase energy efficiency and durability for improved sustainable and affordable new home constuction and remodel projects - such as insulated concrete foundation forms (ICF), sprayed foam insulations, high performace windows and doors, high efficiency furnaces and solar PV and hot hot water systems.

Ashland Construction Company completed one of the first LEED for Homes pilot projects in Denver, Colorado for an infill site for a duplex townhome unit which received a LEED platinum certification in 2009. The project is located at 2455 and 2465 King Street, Denver, Colorado. To my knowledge this project is still the only attached residential duplex development in Colorado to receive a Platinum rating.

Larry Boothby , president of Ashland Construction, was the initiator to apply to the USGBC for the pilot home project and lead the project team members through the required approval and on site inspection and verification steps that resulted in the Platinum certification award for the King St. Duplex project. Ashland Construction is a current member of the USGBC.

Larry's experience in the commercial and residential construction market for over 30 years along with his desire to develop the highest quality project offered under the LEED pilot program helped gain national recognition for this project with an article published in the Jan/Feb issue of the Green business Quarterly.

As a custom home builder and remodeler, Ashland Construction Co. collaborates with Owners to develop an efficient, sustainable design that is " sensitive about our environmental impact instead of just adding square footage -- which helps lead to and set new standards for aesthetics, comfort, and environmental sustainability".
