We offer LEED accredited designers with expertise in green practices ranging from responsible deconstruction to energy efficiency / passive solar design and sustainable building materials and finishes. Our design philosophy is to create spaces that are made from quality sustainable materials that are modular in nature, designed for future deconstruction and timeless design to avoid becoming "dated".
We are currently working on several residential projects throughout the Sacramento region incorporating sustainable practices including reuse / salvaged materials, products that are local and contain recycled content, low VOC paints and coatings, rapidly renewable resources, energy efficient appliances, teaming up with landscape designers to incorporate native landscapes with minimal irrigation, edible gardens, and green roofs.
Principal Jennifer Hensiek, IIDA, LEED AP has worked on several sustainable commercial, education and residential projects. One project was awarded LEED Gold; Sierra College, Tahoe / Truckee. She has extensive knowledge in sustainable building practices and material. She is also very creative in her design approach. Jennifer has been published in Interior Design Magazine and been awarded AIA Best Design under 20,000 sf.
Green ID was recruited to open an office in the Green Living Center of Sacramento, CA. The Green Living Center offers a collaboration of green professionals offering a design/build environment to tackle any size or range of project. We also offer a showroom in the Green Living Center featuring the latest in sustainable building materials and finishes. The vision of green ID is to become the face of green interior design and beyond within the California State Capitol. Sacramento has a responsibility to the rest of the state and country to lead the way in this green movement.
