Pinnacle Building Innovations (PBI) manufactures custom wood framing packages consisting of wall panels, floor panels, and trusses designed and built to enable builders to earn LEED credits, NAHB Green points, and HERS index points in the Energy Star program.
Pinnacle is a manufacturing partner in the U.S. Department of Energy's Builder's Challenge, and a Pledge Level member of the Tennessee Pollution Prevention Partnership (TP3).
Pinnacle will install the windows in the wall panels, as well as exterior building wrap and other products to help builders achieve maximum green points and insure optimal energy conservation and environmental goals for projects.
Here is a list of some of the green practices for LEED, NAHBGreen National Green Building Standard points (21 points are automatic with every panel), and Energy Star that Pinnacle Building Innovations can help builders with:
-- insuring that certified wood has proper "chain-of-custody" documentation
-- use of environmentally preferred products
-- Use of panels reduces job site waste. Pinnacle makes sure that the solid waste on the job site is reduced to an absolute minimum (construction waste reduction)
-- use of high-tech software to reduce wood waste in the framing design
-- provide detailed framing documentation on the multiple points gained from framing efficiencies
-- implementing design-build cooperation that reduces framing errors in the field
-- use of Energy Star rated windows and insulation
-- panels have exterior building wrap installed in the plant
-- offer other pre-finished materials to customer to allow for additional points to be earned.
Pinnacle Building Innovations' Design Manager, Nicci Wiedenhoft, is a CGP (Certified Green Professional) through NAHBGreen. Nicci is working towards LEED GA (Green Associate).
Angela Schnaubelt, Pinnacle's Sustainability Director is also working towards her LEED GA.
The company is a member of the following:
-the U.S. DOE's Builder's Challenge
-TP3 (Tennessee Pollution Prevention Partnership).
The professional and personal consciousness of Pinnacle Building Innovations' management involves responsible use of natural resources, leaving an environmental legacy for future generations, and of course, providing high quality panels that are sustainable, green, and eco-friendly.
Pinnacle's staff goes well beyond providing green panels to builders. The Sustainability Director has implemented a closed-loop recycling program in the entire company. This policy has been implemented in the Employee Manual, and pervades procedures from purchasing post-consumer recycled content office supplies to recycling the sawdust in the plant.
