The Cascade Joinery is a small Design/Build firm focused on high end residential construction using the latest green building methods and specializing in heavy timber work. It was much simpler when we started our company. Sharp tools, a reasonably clear head, a sound body and a big pile of pretty timbers seemed like a sure recipe for a good day’s work. And it was good, but twenty years later, there is so much more. We have learned that we are not just in the business of crafting timbers, we are crafting homes; shelters for life; repositories of dreams — we make places.
Poetry, soul, and integrity are big, scary words, but that’s what we need to describe the goals for our work. After all, without that which is implied in these words, any impersonally conceived, poorly sited, and shoddily built house would do. So we ask, “What inspires you?” Our experience is both broad and deep, but each project starts fresh. We listen to you. We collaborate with you...and we aspire to delight you. Anything else is too small.
Our clients come from all walks of life. Our projects range in size from 500 square foot cabins to large luxury homes. We have designed additions, remodels, picnic tables and tool sheds. We are proud of the diversity of our clients and our projects. Nothing is too big or small—good design applies to all. Cascade Joinery offers the full range of architectural design and design/build services . We usually start with an interview (at our place or yours) to get to know each other and learn about your project.
Next, we visit your site and collect the information necessary to understand your project in full. Then we hit the boards to develop preliminary sketches, plans, elevations, and models for your review. We prepare detailed drawings identifying the materials and systems you need to build your house. Foundation plans, framing plans, door and window schedules, are all part of the design development package. From here we can estimate project costs and help you make decisions that work for you.
