Eco Edge is a sustainability and green building consulting firm that specializes in achieving a triple bottom line based on balancing economy, ecology and equity. Eco Edge works with a range of clients to develop strategies to increase energy efficiency, reduce water usage, decrease waste, and improve indoor air quality. Services include sustainability policy development, planning and reporting for corporate clients; design advice for homeowners; green building training and design charrettes for industry professionals; and, consulting on over twenty LEED projects ranging from neighborhood development to commercial interiors; gut rehab to new; affordable to luxury.
Eco Edge is registered with the Idaho State Board of Education as a Proprietary School and is an Eligible Training Provider for WIA funding through the Department of Labor. Eco Edge launched the National Sustainable Building Advisor Program in Boise in October, 2009. This is a 9-month intensive curriculum with 10 years of history in over 20 locations. As an education provider with the Idaho and Wyoming Real Estate Commissions, Eco Edge has issued CE credits to over 250 real estate professionals.
Sharon Patterson is the principle of Eco Edge. She is an Ecological Designer, LEED AP in Building Design + Construction and Homes, and Certified Healthy Homes Specialist. Sharon is Chair of the USGBC Idaho Chapter and a board member of GreenWorks Idaho. She has been invited to present at numerous conferences including the Idaho Energy and Green Building Conference, Sun Valley Sustainability Conference, Idaho Environmental Summit, Idaho Power Library Series and Idaho Green Expo. Her work as an ecological designer received a Grow Smart Award in 2008 and has been covered by local CBS and NBC affiliates, Idaho Statesman, Idaho Press Tribune, House to Home Magazine, Boise Weekly, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Green Building and Remodeling, Professional Remodeler Magazine and www.bobvila.com.
