As a National Association Realtor Green Designee (NAR Green), I can help those individuals who are looking for a home that is Green, or want to buy their dream home and make it Green. Also if you are getting ready to sell your home and need help marketing the property correctly to maximize the true value, I can help you with that as well. I have the networking and resources edge you might be looking.
Currently, we are working with CHERP (Community Home Energy Retrofit Project), and Build it Green. Part of the City of Monrovia energy plan is to bring resources into the city and its community, and with our involvement with CHERP we can do that. We are working with Build it Green with their networking efforts to get the word out. Part of the networking allows us to connect with mortgage lenders who understand the loan process, and how to include additional money to do the retrofitting needed to be Green. We are reviewing cities energy program plans, and see how we can support them. We are talking with Developers and relocation companies seeing how we can work together and bring more Green Home Ownership.
The Green team always work in progress as more and more resource is being found. Currently, we are working with CHERP (www.cherp.net), and Build it Green (http://www.builditgreen.org) through education and resource building; bring together cities, contractors, homeowners, realtors together. Through Energy Upgrade California we have connected people with contractors, and rebate offers. We are aware of programs like Eastern Los Angeles Energy Assistance Team (ELEAT) who provide weatherization programs for low income homeowners, as well as programs that Los Angeles County has.
We believe that we have a responsibility to do the right thing and making sure our future generations have a healthier world to live. We all have had family members or ourselves at one point in our lives that had to deal with health issues that looking back could have been avoided if we had done the work a “Green home” concept is identifying.
I became Green Realtor because I wanted to understand and help does who are looking for “Green Home.” What I learned in the process is that I have been doing what needed to be made to have a green home over the years. My daughter and I would get very ill, when we started to change things in our home we both got better. We have not had to go to the emergency room for asthma attack for over 15 years because it is under control. I can't think a better reason than that to do this.
