Services

We participate in the Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE) and initiating a recycling program. Through a partnership with CLEAR – Carpet Landfill Elimination And Recycling, 100% of the carpet and padding removed by our residential, small business and commercial installers that can be recycled, will be recycled.

To date, Empire Today has recycled over 8 million pounds of carpet and padding. Our goal for 2011 is to obtain and recycle more than 18 million pounds of carpet.

For Empire’s Small Business & Commercial customers, this new program is another example of Empire’s commitment to doing more than providing quality products and service. We are committed to a partnership that meets the goals of business. The Empire recycling program is a significant step forward in our efforts to support Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certification initiatives for our customers. LEED certification improves the environmental and health performance of buildings while, at the same time, improving business potential by meeting the requirements of federal agencies and state and local governments.

Experience

In 2011, Empire Today® took a major step towards minimizing the environmental impact of our day-to-day operations by participating in the Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE) and initiating a recycling program. Through a partnership with CLEAR – Carpet Landfill Elimination And Recycling, 100% of the carpet and padding removed by our residential, small business and commercial installers that can be recycled, will be recycled. Our goal is to be a leading retail floor covering recycler in the United States, moving millions of pounds of carpet and padding from landfills to recycling facilities.

Moreover, an organization’s participation in the voluntary and technically rigorous LEED process demonstrates leadership, innovation, environmental stewardship and social responsibility. Ideals we at Empire embrace and support in our Small Business & Commercial partners.

As Empire Today continues to recycle, landfill space is spared. For every 10 million pounds of carpet and padding that is recycled by Empire, over 50,000 cubic yards of landfill space will be saved.
