Sustainability has long been a key value in our approach to architectural design. For example, our undergraduate studies in architecture developed technical environmental design expertise -- as well as artful design and the values of humanism. Early professional experiences included participation in the 1978 HUD Solar Residential Design Competition.
Fast forward to 2010, Fredette Architects provides architectural services for all phases of planning and design through construction administration -- with a particular interest in sustainable, high performance and LEED-registered projects.
Diane Kaufman Fredette's experience as an architect includes project leadership. Working with distinguished national and international firms, she has developed expertise in strategic and master planning, programming, design, and orchestrating the flow of both decisions and the development of documents for large-scale, multi-phased, fast-track institutional projects nationwide. Her keen skills involve project management, client and team leadership, and creating inventive solutions.
In addition to her work as a registered architect, Diane Kaufman Fredette, AIA, LEED® AP BD+C is a professor who teaches with several universities. She serves as a guest lecturer on sustainable green building design, a Curriculum Reviewer on Green Construction Skills education for Urban Green Council, and a Course Reviewer and Course Auditor for USGBC.
Russell Fredette, AIA and partner is a skilled problem solver who is very adept at interpreting design goals and concepts in construction detailing and has an impressive knowledge of building materials and systems for a wide variety of complex building types.
Fredette Architects' experience supports Jerry Yudelson’s 2007 research, which names Sustainable Design & Construction as “the fastest growing phenomena to hit the building industry since the internet and perhaps since air conditioning.”
