Sustainable landscape design & consultation services. Specializing in California native and drought tolerant gardens, rain gardens, and rainwater retention design as well as calculating water usage for current and proposed gardens.

Experience

Over ten years designing California native gardens, past experience with landscape design on a LEED rebuild in Rancho Bernardo and currently working on the landscape design plans for a LEED remodel in Rancho Santa Fe.

Qualifications

Owner/head designer Morgan Vondrak is a certified sustainable landscape professional with the G3 Group out of Los Angeles (Green Gardens Group) and has worked with drought tolerant and native plants for over ten years.

Morgan became involved with designing native and drought tolerant gardens after several years in the nursery industry. An avid hiker, surfer and naturalist she realized that native gardens not only helped to replace a small portion of habitat that had been removed during development but also helped to conserve resources and reduce runoff pollution common in many traditional landscapes. After 6 years she took an intensive seminar with the G3 Group out of Los Angeles, which teaches sustainable landscape practices, and is now G3 Certified Sustainable Landscape Professional.

The goals of Argia Designs are:
-to create aesthetically pleasing landscapes that also conserve resources and reduce runoff pollution
-to create a backyard "wildlife corridor" throughout our urban and suburban areas
-to ultimately reduce the impacts of runoff pollution on our watersheds through the implementation of rain gardens and other techniques that retain rainwater on-site.
-to work with local municipalities and organizations to encourage changes in street design to reduce runoff pollution.
