CEC was founded in 1994 to bring weatherization services--and therefore energy bill relief--to low income residents. We have since expanded our mission to do our part to mitigate the effects of climate change, and have created services for commercial, institutional, and market-rate organizations.
Our services beyond weatherization include new construction design assistance, Green Guides, energy audits and reduction plans, commissioning, and LEED certification consulting. CEC has been a green weatherization provider since 1994. We have helped hundreds of thousands of families seal and insulate their homes, and repair or replace mechanical systems.
Our 1347 Bristow St project was the first HPD affordable co-op to achieve LEED certification. It expects to achieve 35% energy reduction and 50% water reduction.
Since the beginning, CEC has pioneered damp-spray cellulose insulation. Cellulose--in addition to being recycled--is flame resistant and non-abrasive, helping improve indoor air quality. We are expanding into solar thermal installations, in addition to our weatherization services.
CEC employs LEED APs, Certified Energy Managers, and BPI certified specialists, and is a member of the USGBC.
