Services

Apropos A-C-D will perform property assessments, feasibility studies, environmental analyses, preliminary budget and schedule analyses, profitability analyses, site analysis and design, architectural planning and design, building and energy code compliance, construction administration and/or management, development management, and, basically, full project management. We can provide as much, or as little, professional assistance as you need to design a home to fit your needs, your site, and your budget.

Experience

Apropos A-C-D's founders have renovated and "un-remuddled" many single-family residences for both historic preservation and sustainability. Improvements have included conversion of an unfinished basement into a code-compliant accessory dwelling unit (mother-in-law apartment), installing basement waterproofing and foundation drainage systems, conversion of a dormer closet into a bathroom, removal of asbestos siding and repair of underlying original wood siding, insulating walls and attics, replacing electrical and plumbing systems, installing in-slab and under-floor hydronic heating systems, replacing windows and doors, new garages, kitchen and bathroom renovations, stormwater diversion, and landscaping.

Qualifications

Apropos A-C-D was founded by Linda Wall, a licensed architect and LEED Accredited Professional with 25 years' experience in a variety of project types - large and small. She has performed historic property assessments for government, institution and education clients; and managed the design and construction of historic property renovations, including courthouses, schools, and single-family residences.

Apropos A-C-D is a full-service architect-led, design/build firm specializing in sustainable projects. We are excited about the "net-zero" concept of a super-insulated, day-lighted, well-ventilated house that sits lightly on the land, capturing and using its own rainwater, generating its own power, and landscaped with edible plants. We look forward to the day when everyone on the planet enjoys an affordable, sustainable lifestyle and we are proud of our part in helping to bring it about.
