Inspired by nature, the PureColor System is a patented, all natural finishing system for wood product manufacturers. PureColor’s patina stains are the industry’s first high performance finishing product entirely free of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) and Volatile Organic Compounds (zero VOC). The company offers the most sustainable stain and clear coat product combinations on the market, while still achieving results previously unavailable to mass production.
Unlike conventional coatings, which essentially use binding agents to glue pigment to wood surfaces, PureColor creates color naturally through a safe, non-toxic mineral reaction. Unlike current "water-based" coatings, which contain 60-70% VOC-emitting chemical solvents, PureColor is 100% water based.
PureColor has been used in several green building projects such as the Time Warner Building, the Cortiva Spa in Chicago, the W Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, and a number of exclusive residential properties (such as those designed by renowned architect Pedro Marquez).
