We are a developer and builder of modern, green homes in Philadelphia. We offer spec homes and design/build services in cooperation with various architects and Hybrid Construction, our building arm. Our expertise lies in reducing the cost and complexity of building an architectural significant and sustainable home. We believe that green should be stylish and affordable.
Our first project was the LEED Platinum Certified 100k House Project. This two home project was a case study for affordable green homes in which we built a super efficient, healthy, modern home for less than $100 per square foot in hard construction costs. These homes use less than half the energy of a code built home and have won a variety of awards for their architectural design.
We are currently working on a three home project that is aiming for LEED Platinum Certification as well. These homes, called the Skinny Project, represent the accumulated lessons of our first projects and use techniques from both LEED and the German Passive House standard. All three homes are already sold, but don't worry, we have more projects in the works.
Our team for Postgreen Homes consists of ourselves, Interface Studio Architects (ISA) and Hybrid Construction. Brian Phillips of ISA is our resident LEED AP in addition to being a rising star in the Philadelphia architecture scene. Check Weiss, project manager at Hybrid, is an accomplished builder with over 25 years experience including a number of innovative green projects. Just prior to joining us he helped Habitat for Humanity complete several LEED homes in West Philadelphia. Postgreen itself consists of Chad Ludeman, former engineer turned full time green geek, Courtney Ludeman, real estate expert and our financial rock, and Nic Darling, marketing force for sustainability.
For other projects we may use other architecture firms, but we only work with those who have proven green credentials and consistently innovative design.
Our mission is to make green homes accessible to a greater number of buyers by proving that healthy, energy efficient homes can be affordable.
