Joshua Lloyd is the owner and founder of sym-home. Sym-Home started as a personal project/mission to document the progress of a typical home being renovated in a sustainable fashion. For almost a decade, Joshua worked for various architectural firms in Cleveland & Columbus Ohio, working on small residential additions to large manufacturing plants. While working in Cleveland, he co-organized and participated in the Cleveland Green Building Coalitions’ “Emerging Green Designers Symposium” program in 2005 which produced three separate home designs from its participants. The program received the 2006 Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance; Inspiring Efficiency Award for Innovation.

After moving to Columbus, Joshua volunteered his services to the Home B.A.S.E. foundation to produce the documents necessary for Ohio’s first LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Platinum home that was built for the Columbus Housing Partnership. To continue his mission of providing durable, energy efficient and healthy homes he organized the AIA Ohio Affordable Green Homes design competition that benefited three separate Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Ohio.
