EcoTerra Enterprises has been providing HERS Ratings in Santa Fe, Taos, Farmington, and Northern New Mexico for over 2 years and has been involved with 3 LEED-H Certified projects with 6 additional projects, currently underway, which are each projected to reach at least Silver Level. In addition to LEED-H projects, EcoTerra has been involved in multiple Energy Star Certified Homes including those built by Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity as well as other builders.
Dalinda Bangert, president of EcoTerra Enterprises, received her degree in Architecture from the University of Oklahoma. She has been a certified HERS rater for over 2 years and has rated over 180 homes. During the last 5 years, she has held several elected positions with the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association, most notably as President in 2010. She is active with the SFAHBA's Green Building Council in hosting their Green Building Summit and Expo each year. Dalinda also teaches credit classes in Green Building, Energy Efficiency and Thermal Bypass at the Santa Fe Community College's Sustainable Technologies Center.
After graduation from the University of Oklahoma, Dalinda Bangert, president of EcoTerra Enterprises, worked in both Chicago and San Francisco managing the construction of wireless antenna sites for Sprint PCS. After moving to Santa Fe, she worked for a local adobe home builder for a short time before settling in with a large Santa Fe production builder. She held several positions with them over the course of six years, such as Purchasing Manager and Home Building Manager. She finally registered the builder as Energy Star Partners and began having the homes Energy Star Certified. As she saw changes taking place in the state of New Mexico in regards to green and energy efficient building, she had the opportunity to fill a niche in the home building industry – that of a HERS rater. She has assisted the City of Santa Fe in writing one of the country's first mandatory Residential Green Building Codes which went into effect in Santa Fe in 2009. Dalinda, and EcoTerra's goal is to encourage Green Building by all home builders by educating them about the benefits; to Builders, with the incentives it offers; to buyers, in the value it offers; and to the community by making it more sustainable.
