Our firm provides full service architectural and design services. With extensive experience in sustainable, energy efficient, and green design we help bring a clients goals to reality. Whether a high end custom residence on acreage or an affordable home on an urban infill site our 30 years of experience can be applied to almost any project. We have worked on LEED, Green Communities, and Passive House US certified projects.

We have worked on over a dozen buildings which have achieved LEED certifications at ratings from Certified to Platinum. In addition, we have assisted several projects with Green Communities Certification.

Projects are quite varied and include traditional construction, historic restoration, major retrofits, and even straw bale construction.

Most recently we have designed the PNC PassiveHouse on the grounds of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The home will receive its Passive House Certification once it is moved to its permanent site.

We are constantly learning about the latest green building trends and technologies. Five people in our office are LEED BD&C accredited professionals. Current team members have extensive additional certifications and training including, but not limited to ResNet and Passive House Accreditation.

We believe that responsible design today builds a better world tommorow.

Principals William A. Doty and Chuck Miller believe in sustainable design solutions for all projects. We believe that architectural professionals have an opportunity to make a significant contribution in shaping the character, functions and style of the built environment and in creating stronger communities and preserving natural resources.

We work with owners to prepare building programs that reflect the goals and expectations of the project. We analyze options and craft creative solutions that respond to the realities of time, budgets, and place. Our collaborative process seeks consensus in the design and project construction activities. We pursue cooperative relationships with a diverse group of industry professionals who share positive, productive and responsible work philosophies, in creating lasting and timeless solutions.

The firm has been working on green homes since the 80s (an Earth berm home in the Carolinas). Most recently our projects have included a straw bale home and a house which will receive Passive Home Certification.
