We are Studio G Architects: a group of seven designers building sustainable communities, one project at a time. We draw upon a 15- year history as Gail Sullivan Associates, maintaining essential values and augmenting them with a vibrant, multi-disciplinary capacity, broadened client base, and geographic reach. We offer design services ranging from planning and pre-design through construction administration to public and private clients, tackling each project with a fresh and creative approach tailored to each client’s agenda. Studio G architects have licenses in multiple states, national certification, and LEED AP accreditation. The firm is certified as a woman-owned business by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the City of Boston.

We specialize in:
- Designing buildings, landscapes and neighborhoods for living, working, learning and gathering.
- Preserving historic structures, often adapting them to new uses.
- Commercial revitalization and community planning projects that enhance urban, suburban and rural environments.
- Investing each project with the most environmentally responsible choices possible given the constraints of program and budget.

Studio G Architects’ housing projects vary in scope from new construction and major renovations to upgrades and additions to existing housing. In working on projects ranging from two to nearly 200 units, we have developed and perfected tools and systems that streamline the design and approvals processes, and provide immediate and lasting value for our clients.

Studio G designs market-rate, affordable and public housing for both home ownership and rental markets. Our projects include mixed use developments, multi-family and transitional housing. In each, the key is design that meets the programmatic needs and budgetary constraints of the client, fits appropriately into its context, and offers a healthy, enriching environment for its inhabitants.

We think housing is much more than provision of dwellings: housing should create community among residents and within the larger neighborhood. We find opportunities to build a sustaining community through large moves and small, in every housing project. All of our housing designs are environmentally conscious and energy efficient. In new construction, we design high performance building envelopes and systems, as well as other green features, and design as appropriate to LEED certification, Energy Star, and Green Communities guidelines.
