Much of our lumber comes from lands that are intensively managed by professional foresters on a sustained yield basis.Most of Ethan Allen’s lumber requirements are satisfied with native hardwood species, including soft and hard maple, black cherry, ash, and yellow birch. These trees grow in the forests along the mountain ranges of the eastern United States.Our proximity to these hardwood forests gives a competitive advange to Ethan Allen’s wood furniture factories located in Vermont, Maine, and North Carolina. Ethan Allen is one of the largest employers in northern Vermont. Ethan Allen’s Log and Lumber Director is a professionally trained and experienced forester.
