My speciality area is Historic Preservation and Addaptive reuse of exisitng structures. I have a Master's of Sceince Degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. I am a full time professor at Chaminade University in Honolulu and do consulting for non profit business on a part ime basis. I have been teaching sustainability to my students as a form of preservation and in every course where energy consumption is a factor. Mone of my courses is an introduction to Lightindg course where each student studies lighing and electricity and researches energy loads in every day applications. I counlut with energy consultents on a regular basis to discover the latest technology and
have attending continuing education workshops on electronics being utilized in todays homes and the heat generated from them. My preference is to work with existing buildings and examine materials that could be used in a new interior through rennovation rather than replacement. Re lamping is used as an option rather than replacing fixtures to avoid filling landfills and recycling of building materials is always considered.
