Boa Construction
Boa Construction, known for its artisan craftsmanship for over 26 years, builds new homes, renovates/remodels existing homes, conducts energy audits, weatherization evaluations, and helps green existing homes. Founded in 1981, Boa Construction is the only homebuilder in Missouri to have earned the NAHB’s National Housing Quality (NHQ) Certification.
Boa Construction was the driving force to convince Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis to design their 2008 homes to LEED for Homes. All 27 homes are certified Platinum and included elements such as HERS ratings averaging 55, which far exceeds the energy efficiency requirements for designation as an EPA Energy Star Qualified Home, recycled materials, advanced framing techniques and reduced water usage. One home is in progress to be built to the NAHB’s GBI system and will feature lean construction techniques to minimize waste. Boa has been building ‘green’ since its beginning in 1981, using insulation with high R-values, ensuring all openings are sealed to reduce air leakage and installing geothermal systems before they became mainstream. We have six LEED APs on staff and several employees are involved in the local USGBC chapter, the HBA’s Green Building Council, RCGA’s Climate Prosperity Project and the Focus St. Louis Sustainability Task Force.
