We at G V V Architects share a deep concern for the unique quality of life found here in northern Vermont. We believe that carefully conceived buildings and communities can work with nature to preserve and enhance the specialness of place. Design and construction of energy efficient facilities incorporating sustainable technologies and renewable resources is environmentally gentle, makes economic sense, and invests in the future. Our attention to your environment will result in the best solution for your needs.
The partners at G V V Architects have been involved in sustainable architecture for over 40 years. Frank Guillot was a charter member of the Solar Association of Vermont in 1974, an organization devoted to passive solar solutions in construction. Doug Viehmann spent 12 years in Design/Build practices from 1976 through 1988 creating passively heated and super insulated buildings, using re-purposed buildings and materials and 'walking the talk' of living green. Ann Vivan began sustainable architecture in collaboration with Moose Creek Construction in the 1980's providing economical solutions for projects through re-use and 'building small'.
All of these approaches have contributed to the current green building movement. Our LEED-AP staff and keen interest in the health of our planet keep us informed on the leading edge of green technologies and practices. Together we can find the simple solutions, using fewer resources to create more value for our clients.
