Michael Englebert Griffin has been working in the field of historic preservation for sixteen years. He has written several Historic Structure Reports, Preservation Plans, National Register Nominations and been project manager on four "Most Enhanced" award winning projects from the St. Louis Landmarks Association. His skills provide an in-depth knowledge of various government agencies and the tax credit programs that enhance the financial position of renovation projects. BarnesGriffin Inc. began in 2001 with the mission of examining ways to renovate historic certified buildings with economic and ecological responsibility. Michael is a 2007 recipient of a National Park Service grant for the Walter's Market renovation in St. Louis which is shooting for LEED Silver.
I'm working on my first two LEED projects at the moment - one is going for Silver and the other, Gold. Walter's Market is a mixed-use commercial building in the heart of south city St. Louis. The Rigsbey Residence is a private residence down the street. We are also working with the City of Jefferson on a public building near the Capitol. I am LEED AP + O&M accredited and recently passed both of the new tests. We are members of the local St. Louis chapter.
