Carl Seville chaired the EarthCraft House Renovation committee and he supervised the construction of all the programs pilot projects beginning in 2001. One of the first projects received the National Green Building award and two awards from Environmental Design and Construction magazine. This entailed the addition of a 2nd story to a ranch house which incorporated many green building principles and was used to develop the EarthCraft Renovation checklist.
