Joseph Scarpa, LEED AP, Green, EcoBroker, is a real estate advisor for clients of Green Paradigm Realty LLC and is additionally licensed as New Jersey broker of record for NextRE, Inc. He holds an NJ Real Estate Instructor license.

Joe was involved in project management, cost control, and contract negotiations throughout his previous 20-year naval officer career. He was adjunct faculty in marketing / e-business at Cumberland County College and currently is adjunct faculty with Atlantic Cape Community College in green building. Familiar with economic development, and energy and environmental issues in the region, Joe is a champion for high performance buildings and third party certifications.

His current projects include Energy Freedom Pioneers' adaptive reuse and conversion of a former Army base to an Eco-Industrial Park, developing additional eco-industrial parks / green collar career centers in the region, brokering land and rooftops for solar, and working with developers on renewable energy communities. He is an EPA Indoor airPLUS ally. He is an excellent buyer agent for homeowners seeking a “built-green” home or seeking advice to retrofit their current home.

Joseph is active with the Southern New Jersey Development Council (Energy / Environment Committee), the Urban Land Institute, and Strengthening the Mid-Atlantic Region for Tomorrow (SMART). He has spoken at numerous venues on redevelopment, green building, and green real estate. His past presentations have been approved for continuing education for New York and Pennsylvania real estate licensees. He has an A.A.S. in computer / electronic technology from Heald Institute, a B.S. in economics from University of Delaware and an M.S. in management from U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. Committed to building the green collar economy, he founded the Green Paradigm Institute in Oct 2008.
