At Associates III creating superb interior designs with a sustainable design philosophy is our area of expertise. We have the flexibility to create exclusive designs at the highest level of customization, to work closely with local artisans to craft distinctive furniture designs, or to simply offer a few hours of consultation.
Transforming interiors into home for 40 years, we are the premier interior design firm of Colorado. Our passion? To bring your vision to life by creating spaces that are as healthy, earth-friendly and life-enhancing as they are beautiful.
On each project we are motivated to create designs appropriate for our clients that meet traditional goals – their needs, budget, and aesthetics – while also giving back more than we take from the surrounding environment. Working with the entire project team – client, architect, builder and consultants – we value and support a collaborative approach, utilizing team members' strengths and expertise. We excel at the details, from thorough construction documentation to impeccable follow up on any loose ends.
We offer comprehensive turnkey interior design services, and are well organized to support our clients every step of the way. Through an integrated team approach we help focus, maintain, and carry out the goals for each project. From the project’s onset we are able to fully adapt our services to its specific needs. This can include:

• Analyze architectural plans and help develop interior architectural spaces.
• Realize schematic design concepts.
• Research, design and selection of custom interior building finishes.
• Design development of interior finish materials and detailing.
• Preparation of interior finish schedules, construction drawings and documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure designs are executed fully.
Indispensible finishing touches
• Create space planning options to reveal best furniture placement.
• Research and design of custom interior furnishings, antiques and collectibles.
• Select furnishings, including upholstery, fabrics, area rugs, windowcoverings and wallcoverings.
• Assist with acquisition of art, accessories, table and kitchenware, bath and kitchen linens.
• Provide procurement services, coordinate installation and follow through.
Before the advent of LEED in the residential marketplace, Associates III developed their own green checklist to motivate their clients to embrace sustaining principles. Since then, we completed the Natural Dream Home, a LEED for Homes Pilot project, showcased in Mountain Living Magazine during 2008-2009, and have been involved in 5 or 6 more custom homes seeking LEED for Homes certification.

Celebrating 40 years!
Associates III opened its doors for business in 1971. Many years ago we made a conscious decision to remain a small, heartfelt company. The firm is always growing through increasing knowledge of new technology and the latest sustainability guidelines. From the start, Associates III has had green leanings and was involved in the 70s solar movement and alternative design. In the 1990s the company unanimously decided to focus on sustainable design, and focused on greening the different areas of our business – from our workplace, to our specifications, to working with our consultants and manufacturers.
With full commitment, the firm incorporates sustainability in every project it takes on. Environmental and social responsibility is the core of the company, and informs the team’s actions both professionally and personally. For projects, Associates III selects finishes and furnishings with a host of criteria in mind that ultimately contribute to healthy and sustainable designs. Their office houses the most extensive residential eco-library to be found and showcases eco-friendly and recycled finish materials.
Sustainable Residential Interiors, our book, continues to lead the way in eco-friendly interior design practices.
