JSA has recently designed several homes and townhouses in the Tribal Winds development for the Round Valley Indian Tribes dedicated to sustainability in terms of material selection, conservative use of materials, passive solar, and features a rainwater harvesting system to provide up to 80% of needed water requirements.
JSA has been involved with green construction design and techniques for close to 20 years including computer modeling to achieve aesthetically pleasing solutions. Other projects have included the retrofit of the shell of an existing metal building with exclusive use of sustainable materials and fixture which was later adopted by the City of Paso Robles California.
JSA involves registered architects, licensed contractors and LEED APs with the experience to put together a sustainable project that is sensitive to energy savings, resource scarcity, healthy environments, and project budgets.
Buildings designed to conserve energy are naturally warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, an ideal that makes for a nicer place to live. Just like the computer models allows us see how a design may vary from any angle, the computer model allows us to survey different energy use in different designs.
An often over-looked aspect of green building is the reutilization of materials. At JSA, we specify and have a responsibility to use materials in an effective and beautiful way. Not only does reusing old materials avoid the toxic chemicals used in the manufacturing process, but gives a second chance for materials to be used in a new way.
JSA is LEED Accredited through the U.S. Green Building Council and is ready to assist you either in gaining certification for your Building or Project, or simply design to these guidelines to the benefit of our environment.
