Rising Design & Construction utilizes energy efficient sustainable building methods and building performance benchmarks to do commercial and residential remodels, additions, retrofits and maintenance. We are BPI certified building analysts, a home performance contractor with Energy Star rated, Certified Green Building Professionals, HERS Raters, GreenPoint Raters and members of the USGBC, Build It Green, Efficiency First, The BBB and a Bay Area Green Business, the first general contractor in Sonoma County.

Qualifications

John Rising is a certified Green Building Professional (Sonoma State, 2005), a GreenPoint Rater, a HERS rater, BPI certified building and shell analyst, and attends many classes on energy efficiency through PG&E. Rising Design and Construction is a Certified Bay Area Green Business, A Build It Green member, a USGBC member, a BBB member and an Efficiency First member.

Our vision is to design and build buildings that are fully self-sustaining through extreme energy efficient structures that are aligned with the sun, on-site energy generation, rainwater catchment, greywater usage and blackwater treatment.
John Rising has a degree and 12 years of experience in the product design field and became interested in green building after remodeling his own home in 1999 and asking if there was a better, more efficient and healthier way to build.
