That really depends on how much power you are going to use and how many hours of sun exposure you have each day and throughout the year.

The best steps to take are to reduce the amount of energy you will use, DC lights, DC refrigerator, gas heating system for the house and to heat the water? Then you can figure out if it's a good idea to add a solar power system to your home in Arkansas.

It's ALWAYS a good idea to get your energy from a renewable source rather than the grid. You are more secure, you are investing in yourself and your property and you are being an example, a good example for all to see.

One last thing: you have to look at your budget and determine if you can afford it. The smaller the system, the less money. The less power you use, the smaller the system.
