If this is a window A/C unit, I would highly recommend removing it and storing it.
- An A/C window unit penetrates the envelope of your home allowing cold air to infiltrate the home.
- By removing it you are improving your home's ability to retain heat.
If the A/C unit is a ground mounted unit, it is recommended that you clean the unit by hosing off dust and dirt and then cover the unit. You can purchase an A/C cover at your local hardware of DIY center, or place a large garbage bag over it and secure it from blowing off.
