What material should I use for building zero/low VOC shelves?

I am looking for materials that I can use to build some simple shelves (for closets, mud room, and pantry) and mud room bench. I found Columbia Forest's Purebond plywood but not sure what to do with the edge since the exposed plywood edge is not finished. Do you know what brand of edgebanding material does not off gas? Thanks!

This Green Guard certified 3M adhesive, could be a possibility - 3M Fastbond Contact Adhesive 30NF.

Or an alternative to adhering a veneer would be to install 3/4" solid wood moulding, shoe moulding, or pine screen moulding.

  • You could then fill the nail holes with no-VOC wood filler, such as, Famowood and
  • finish with a low-VOC stain, such as TimberSoy or zero/low-VOC paint.

Good luck with your project,
