What is the most energy efficient roof material for a gable roof? We live in Phoenix AZ?

We have many broken tiles and need to replace the roof. The house is 25 years old.

Quick answer - another tile roof is probably going to be your best choice as it actually shades the roof sheathing and allows most of the heat to escape due to the space between it & the sheathing caused by the batons. The most efficient is a "white roof" but it probably would not fit in so well. For More:
