What is the healthiest, low voc flooring to put in my bedrooms?

I have parrots and am looking to replace old carpeting. I know some installation material is toxic and could possibly kill them. I am leaning towards wood.

Wood finished with a Low VOC product such as Vermont Natural Coatings or a pre-engineered FSC wood flooring system from Baltic or similar would be best. Any carpet, even wool, could contain potential hazards. With a wood floor, you can always add an area rug later and test different kinds.
