Question
What countertop sealer should I use for my new Vetrazzo?
Answer
Dear Dayla,
Vetrazzo recycled glass countertops are highly durable and receive a protective sealant at the time of installation by the fabricator.
If you would like your countertops to have that “just installed” look into perpetuity, here are a few suggestions:
- Wax the countertops a couple of times a year with a marble polish -- the manufacturer recommends Goddard's Marble Polish, but you can substitute with another high-quality marble polish (realize that hot pots can compromise the polish).
- If you think a more penetrating application is needed, then the manufacturer suggests any high-quality granite or concrete countertop sealant can be used, such as Impregnator Pro by StoneTech or Buddy Rhodes Natural Look Penetrating Concrete Sealer.
