Question
What can I do to get rid of ants that have taken over my compost bin?
When I went to use some of my compost at the beginning of last summer, I found it infested with ants, making it un-usable. I was wondering how to get rid of the ants and start over again. Can you kindly advise me?
Answer
Most would use some type of bug killer, baking soda or some other product.
However I have heard if you take another ant pile and scoop some of it up and place it on the ant pile that's infested your compost they will attack each other. Case solved!
The Farmer's Almanac (here) is a good resource link below my grandfather said was very useful for him and has been around a long time.
