What can I do to avoid noise from the circulator pump in my hot water radiator?

The pump is 100 watts, and is that kind of pump used at reciculator systems in many homes.

All circulators make some noise but it is usually not very loud.  

The fact that yours is making noise can be an indication that:

  • the pump might be going bad or
  • the system may be air bound causing some air to be caught in the impeller of the circulator causing some noise.

Try to bleed the system and see if the noise stops.
