What are my options for lower-cost, green flooring?

I'm replacing floors in my home and would like to find a lower-cost product that doesn't have all the chemicals. I prefer the floating floors to avoid the glueing. I'm on a tight budget and can't afford the 'real' green floors. I was looking into the engineered hardwoods but have heard bad things about them - squeaking, popping, cracking, buckling.

I specify a line of prefinished engineered wood flooring made by Baltic Wood Floors.

  • They are FSC certified and Green Guard certified.
  • They are very reasonably priced as well.

In any case, look for Green Guard certified products.
