Question
Is there anything a layperson can do for a wood floor which has lost some areas of protected polyurethane?
some small areas are now exposed wood with no finish. We are not ready to have floors done professionally.
Answer
I have wood floors. A painter I know showed me a process once I have used before. We mix the stain with the sealer.
- First, we stained lightly, pure stain, wiped it out..then...
- Coated it with the mix....
- Once it dried....we used 360 sandpaper to sand it down....
- Repeated process with lambs wool applicator....looks great!
