Is "Greenboard" insulative walling system recommended in tropical countries? We are building a new home.

The construction company we plan to work with uses "Greenboard" & I need more information if this is suitable material to build new homes.

Most exterior foam boarding is per code. It does not have the same structural sheer strength as OSB or Ply wood.

  • Additional strapping is required to bring to code.
  • If hurricanes are common you should consider a upgrading.

Also in my experience taped seams don't always stay taped. It is always a good idea to use a house wrap that has far fewer seams.
