Warm mist humidifiers are typically used to prevent all sorts of bodily irritations caused by dry winter air, including sinus irritation and sinus infections.

  • Warm mist humidifiers tend to be better at preventing dust and allergens from being kicked up into the air.
  • They actually have the ability to warm up the air in a room, easing breathing and reducing irritants.

The main difference between a warm mist humidifier and a cool mist humidifier is that warm mist humidifiers expel steam whereas cool mist humidifiers expel cool water into the air.

While they both impact the humidity of your home, people hoping to reap additional benefits, such as reduced sinus irritation, should invest in a warm mist humidifier.
