Question
I want to know if the adhesives and sealers in a "Greenguard" certified cutting board are really food-safe.
The "Epicurean" cutting board, a pressed paper surface supposedly has Greenguard certification, but I can't find it on the website. I want to know about the binders, adhesives and sealers used. Are they really food-safe? Thanks so much!
Answer
Wendy,
After reading your question I did a bit of research and found that the "Epicurean" cutting board is actually made of a product I'm very familiar with called "richlite."
You can see their certification details on Greenguard's site under Richlite, not the "Epicurean" name. Children and School approved.
I would use with confidence in your green kitchen.
