I need to seal my asphalt driveway to protect from future cracking but would like to avoid the typical black sealants.

I live in Chicago and I would like to seal my asphalt driveway to protect from future cracking due to freeze-thaw cycles. I want to avoid the typical jet black tar-like sealants found at big box hardware stores. My primary concern is the resulting heat effect from the summer sun on the black surface. My existing drive is a light gray asphalt, and I would prefer to use a clear product; however, I realize whatever product I use will most likely need to be thick so as to fill the porous, textured asphalt surface.

We would recommend DynoSeal Asphalt Driveway Sealer, a low-odor elastomeric sealer and topcoating for asphalt surfaces.

It helps to reduce the offgassing and offensive smells generated by new asphalt, while preserving and renewing existing asphalt surfaces.
