Question

I'm looking for the healthiest flooring option. Chemicals in finished wood worry me.

Asked by Michael Girimonti

I will be replacing carpet on the second floor of a house and want the healthiest flooring option available. Health is the major factor NOT Green or Renewable. Chemicals and glue concern me. Is it possible to use natural wood without finishing it?

Stone flooring is the best option with natural mortar. If you don't seal the floor then you will have no chemicals on the stone.

Hardwoods can be custom made without any finish, if wood is the preference.

Hope this helps you.
