Question
I have skylights that are leaking and I'm wondering how to just close them off.
There are two of them and only one is starting to leak pretty bad. The contractor wan'ts 300.00 to put in flashing that was never put in. I keep asking him how much better would it be and how much would it cost to just close them off, but he never answers. They are creepy anyway since someone could be up there looking at you and you'd never know it. they are pretty in the daytime, but at night they aren't.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "close them off". Do you intend to
completely remove them? If so, that is quite a task:
- remove skylight,
- close in rough framing,
- patch roof sheathing,
- patch in roof shingles,
- install insulation,
- patch Sheetrock and then
- paint the Sheetrock.
I would spend the $300 to install the flashing kit and be finished.
