Question
I am trying to find as low a VOC wood floor as possible.
Hi- I am trying to find as low a VOC wood floor as possible . My install will be over a cement slab so I think engineered will probably be best. (and less toxic glue that way!) I am looking for an unfinished engineered floor with NO urea formaldehyde added in the glues for engineered wood etc. Then I think I'll top with Rubio Monocoat as I hear it is No VOC. Floating or click would be my first choice to avoid glues as well. Can you recommend a company that I can trust will sell me this kind of low VOC flooring ? How does my game-plan sound VOC-wise? Thanks so much!! Annie
Answer
Annie,
A possibility for you could be found at Smith + Fong Co. They offer several click-together floors with no added formaldehyde that are 100% FSC certified.
Also, Bamboo Hardwoods, Inc offers click-together flooring with no added formaldehyde.
Good luck with your project,
Edward
