Question
I am having to reroof my 1904 Arts and Crafts cottage. The existing old roof is asbestos shingle.
Reroofing is necessary due to storm damage. The back 1/2 of the building has, beneath the asbestos shingles, the original wooden shake shingles.
Answer
Hi Julia,
When re-roofing there are a number of thing to consider to ensure your roof is sustainable. Consider:
- the materials the roofing is made of,
- its energy efficiency and
- the life-cycle of the roofing.
We like Certainteed Landmark Solaris Plus for its Energy star rating and lifetime warranty.
