I think the most important question to ask both the architect and contractor is "Can you show me examples of green homes you have designed or built that have received LEED certification?"

I would also ask "whether we choose to go for LEED certification or not, will you, as an architect or builder use integrated design and project management approaches to design and build my green home?

If they do not know what these terms mean, move on to the architect and contractor on your list.
