Asked by Karin

We are building a new house and I want the most efficient house possible within reason. I did some research and closed cell spray insulation seems the way to go but my builder is pushing for open cell.

Hi Karin, Gregory again…and again planning how your homes "envelope" will be made and will perform is something that a green design program must include before the studs are delivered to the site. You shouldn't have to make this decision… after all, when you bought your last car you didn't have to do research on what materials would be used in the transmission. There seems to be a lack of engineering in the process. Please give an update ?? Best..
